ACTIVITIES

At PGCCS, no two days are exactly the same. All activities are purpose driven, enjoyable and inclusive. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework in ensuring that both adult-initiated play and child-initiated play support areas of learning and development.

We have many play and learning activities to suit all ages and stages of development including construction (i.e. magnets, Lego etc), small world toys, role play, tent and tunnel, puzzles, board games, lots and lots of art and craft materials, dressing up clothes, dolls, junk modelling, play dough etc.
We visit the local libraries twice a week for activities organised for children of different age groups.
We are a registered member of a local Rowans Family Centre, and a couple more organisations in the community, which have a variety of weekly planned activities for children.
To encourage children in our care to appreciate healthy eating, as part of our daily activities we include the picking of fruit and vegetables from our "fruit and veggie" basket for snacks and meal times.
Story time, nursery rhymes and poems are daily features in our activities.
To be able to monitor progress in learning development, we make use of a "Learning Journal" which helps in keeping track of the learning development of all children in our care. This covers the seven areas of learning according to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
Parents/guardians gets a daily report of their child's activities while in our care. We also supply parents/guardians with a bi-monthly report on their child's learning development.
